Projects in Canada

The Wastewater Energy Transfer™ System will use thermal energy from wastewater flowing through the sewer to supply up to 90 percent of the campus' heating and cooling needs, reducing the site's direct greenhouse gas emissions by about 8,400 metric tonnes each year. That’s the equivalent of removing 1,811 cars from the road.

Future Builds in Toronto

On July 19th, 2022, the Toronto City Council adopted a motion which approved Noventa’s request to build nine more WET™ projects in Toronto. Noventa collaborates with the City on positioning Toronto as one of the world’s leaders in water/wastewater energy projects to decarbonize large communities and institutional buildings across the City and accelerate the City’s TransformTO climate goals.

Projects in United States

American Geophysical Union

HUBER ThermWin® Technology has been operational in the United States since 2018. The installation at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Headquarters in Washington, D.C., plays an essential part in the net-zero vision of the building.

In 2013, the AGU set out to take on the challenge of renovating its headquarters with green technology to achieve a net-zero building. Wastewater Energy was essential in achieving this ambitious goal, and the team of AGU scientists was convinced that HUBER ThermWin® was the only technology in the market that could meet their strict quality requirements.

The HUBER ThermWin® technology uses sewage from a nearby sanitary main and consists of a HUBER RoK4® Pumping Station screen and a HUBER RoWin® Heat Exchanger.

Noventa and HUBER US collaboration

Noventa is proud to work exclusively with HUBER US to promote the ThermWin® Technology in the United States. Our respective engineering teams work together to design customized energy solutions for residential communities, commercial and institutional buildings, and industrial facilities throughout Canada and the US. HUBER's German and US engineers are fully integrated into Noventa's operations, where they provide real-world knowledge and experience to ensure the successful design and construction of all our WET™ projects.

Projects in Scotland

HUBER UK and Noventa UK collaboration

HUBER UK has appointed Noventa Energy UK as their exclusive distributor in Scotland for the HUBER ThermWin® technology. HUBER's wastewater treatment solutions have been operational in Scotland for over 30 years. Through their business relationship, Noventa UK and HUBER UK open up the largely untapped opportunity of wastewater energy at a time when it is most needed. The HUBER ThermWin® technology allows Noventa to overcome the challenges of dealing with wastewater and build renewable energy projects that are safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly. Together we are developing creative solutions to support Scotland’s mission to achieve net zero emissions by 2045.

Scottish Water Horizons Collaboration

Noventa Energy Partners works with Scottish Water Horizons to develop Wastewater Energy Transfer™ systems at select sites in Scotland. The collaboration between Scottish Water Horizons and Noventa is focused on accelerating the decarbonization of Scottish Heat Networks and major energy consumers, which will be instrumental to meeting Scotland's goal to be net zero by 2045. The implementation of renewable energy initiatives and the accompanying cost savings comes when needed most, as Noventa's WET™ systems reduce dependency on fossil fuels and their highly volatile prices.
