About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be a highly skilled and creative problem-solver who is also a self-starter. The successful candidate will have 5 or more years of experience working in an engineering design firm, or similar setting, where they handled all aspects of engineering design, including the development of building energy models, avoided cost financial modelling, equipment selection and budgeting. The ideal candidate will also have a good understanding of the energy market and climate change.
Responsibilities:
Prepare 30% engineering design for various renewable energy projects with a focus on Noventa’s Wastewater Energy Transfer (WET™) systems which include:
Producing thermal load models and sizing WET™ systems for retrofit and new infrastructure projects across North America and the UK.
Collecting and analyzing building and HVAC data from customers to prepare avoided energy and cost models
Understanding engineering drawings to identify system tie-ins and attending at customer site visits to optimize design and mechanical pipe routing.
Selecting equipment, developing budgets and assisting with project financial modelling
Developing system design layouts and schematics in AutoCAD.
Writing technical feasibility reports and responding to RFP’s and RFI’s including system design, system pricing, project scope, and project scheduling.
Provide input on energy performance improvements and make recommendations for cost efficiency and continuous improvement.
Provide assistance as required by our industry partners to advance the project design from 30% through 60%, 90% and IFC.
Communicate regularly with customers throughout every stage of the design process to ensure buy-in.

As Engineering Associate at Noventa you will play an instrumental role in the design of renawble energy projects. You will work closely together with the rest of the engineering team and be under supervision of experienced energy sector professionals.
Responsibilities:
Run thermal load models for Noventa’s systems for existing as well as new infrastructure projects; including data collection, data analysis, generation of thermal load profiles, selection of optimal sized WET™ system equipment and understanding engineering drawings to identify optimal system tie-in options
Conceptualize system design layouts and schematics in AutoCAD
Assist in utility rate analysis to forecast future project cost savings
Update and refine energy simulations as the design progresses and evolves
Provide technical analysis and support during the detailed engineering design process
Write technical feasibility reports and support the development of proposals including pricing, scope development
Interact with external stakeholders to facilitate the process of equipment selection
Provide guidance on energy modelling to other project teams
Work as part of the system design team, you’ll be key to providing input on Noventa systems’ energy performance measures and making sound recommendations for cost efficiencies and improvements

We’re looking for a financial analyst with a strong background in financial modeling who will be responsible for preparing and updating financial models for projects. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a team setting and meets technical requirements. Our financial analyst will work closely with the business development team and engineering team to prepare the financial forecast for different projects.
Responsibilities:
• Build and update financial model for renewable energy projects
• Analyze project budget variances and performance indexing
• Assist in preparation of board packages for approval of new investments and reporting on performance
• Coordinate preparation of draw packages for debt financing and manage ongoing construction draws
• Coordinate ongoing reporting to lenders and manage lender compliance
• Work with different teams to prepare financial presentations
• Assist with other finance activities as needed
Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in accounting, business administration, or finance
• MBA/CFA or in pursuit of designation is preferred
• Prior experience in project finance, infrastructure advisory or investment banking is preferred
• Expertise in financial modelling for infrastructure projects, preferably energy
• Competent in Microsoft Excel including VBA
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Must be able to prioritize workload and work with deadlines
