Noventa and the City of Toronto are collaborating to decarbonize the city and accelerate TransformTO
climate goals

On July 19th 2022 the Toronto City Council adopted a motion which approves Noventa’s request to build nine more WET™ projects in Toronto. Noventa collaborates with the city of Toronto on positioning Toronto as one of the world’s leaders in water/wastewater energy projects to decarbonize large community/institutional buildings across the City and accelerate the City’s TransformTO climate goals.

The approval of this council motion has the following implications.

Authorizes Toronto Water to approve and enter into arrangements with Noventa for nine additional Wastewater Energy projects.

Authorizes the Transportation Services department to permit access to and occupation of the City's public highway.

Authorizes the Planning department to initiate Initial Plan Amendments if required for Wastewater Energy projects

I want to thank everyone involved in the TWH WET™ project that will use innovative technology to help lower our carbon emissions in Toronto. My hope is that the success of this project will see us implementing similar technologies and initiatives across the city as we continue to meet our climate change goals.
— John Tory, the former Mayor of the City of Toronto
